geography of the new worlds effect on early settlements of colonial america

By the 1490s, Europeans were experiencing a renewed curiosity about the world. As nation-states began to rely on their navies to establish trade connections and power, overseas exploration became important. This, in turn, led to contact between Europeans and Native Americans, as exploration eventuallly gave way to permanent settlements in the New World.

In no less than 250 words, describe and discuss the various ways that the geography of the New World effected the early settlements of colonial America (the Chesapeake, the Carolinas, the Middle Colonies, and New England). You must support your post with specific examples. Think of your post as the start of a conversation with your fellow students.
